Hi, does the gmc-300 provide with real time monitoring just like the gmc-200 when connected to the computer?

I see the gmc-200 battery can be replaced. Can I also replace the gmc-300 battery when it stops working? I know they are rechargable, but they will stop working sooner or later.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Michael

you may need to adjust iPhone microphone level. The GeigerBot converts the audio data into CPM. So, the microphone level affects the CPM.

GeigerBot and the 077 cable have the various gmc-200 displays showing just fine on the iPhone, but the .1g thorium source averages 290 CPM on the PC and only 180 CPM on the iPhone, so maybe I need some more sensitive reference to adjust the settings.

ZLM - Can you tell me what software I need to get my iPhone to display my gmc-200 live readings using the Tool 077 cable? Thanks in advance.
ZLM Posted - 02/02/2012 : 15:47:15
If you only read the CPM, then you do not need the calibration. The GMC-200 software has default calibration data for a refeerece. If you want more accurate reading in uSv/h, then you need to calibrate the software.

Thanks. How about calibration? Does the GMC-200 need calibration after I receive it?

GMC-200 uses about 10mA for mormal working.

Yes. GMC-200 will work normally while it is charging.

The charging current is changing. Beginning changing may be higher than 500mA, but it will quickly drop to 100~200mA in about 30 seconds. After that, the charging current will continually dropping untill 1~2mA if the battery is full.

The charger comes with GMC-200 set is 9~10V. So, you do not need to change to other charger.

Thanks ZLM.
So, please, clarify this for me, for charging the battery I would have to switch the charger to 10V. If the charger has 1200mA, you are saying the battery only needs 500mA for charging. Question is, how many mA does the working GMC-200 use when it is not charging battery?
And, can I use the GMC-200 and charge battery at the same time if I switch my adapter to 10V and it has a max Amp of 1200mA?

Thanks again, I appreciate you replying to everyone.

Regards,
Michael

The GMC-200 working voltage is 9V power input. If you want to charge the internal 9V battery, then the power adapter need to be 9.8V~10V inorder to fully charge the battery.

The fuse use 1A is enough. normally is use less than 500mA for charging the battery.

Thanks again for that info.

I have a 9-10 V car adapter, 1200mA. Is that ok? What is the min Amperage the GMC-200 requires?

I believe it uses a 5A fuse, would that also be ok to protect it?

Thanks,
Michael

If you have 9~10V car adapter, then the GMC-200 will work.

The GMC-300 comes with a 5V car adapter.

For the iPhone cable:

Depending on the radiation level environment, a fully charged battery may last 14~16 hours on GMC-200. The GMC-300 has Power Saving mode, it may be longer.

If you install a better rechargeable battery, it will last even longer. One of the good rechargeable battery is Energizer 9V
(8.4V 6HR61) rechargeable battery.

The charge circuit is designed for Nickel-Metal Hydride battery.

Thank you for your help.

How long does the battery last on GMC-200 and GMC-300?
Also, can I use the GMC-200 in the car with a car adapter?

Where can I get the cable to use with the iphone and the GMC-200?

Thanks again!

GMC-300 has no interface to iPod/iPhone with geigerbot softwware.

But there is a chance to add this port yourself.

Oh and another question, what is the max and minimum operating temperature for both the GMC-200 and GMC-300?

Thanks
michaeldx Posted - 01/22/2012 : 02:59:37
Thank you for the info ZLM.
Does the GMC-300 work with iPhones and iPads? How about geigerbot? I read on the forum that the GMC-200 worked on the iphone with Geigerbot. Do you know if it also works the GMC-300?

Thanks again.

The current initial release GMC-300 data viwer software only to see the history data of GMC-300. The real-time graph data will be added in the future software release. But no time frame yet. The GMC-300 PC software real-time graph should be much accurate than GMC-200 with no data input level adjustment.

Both GMC-200 and GMC-300 allow using a non-rechargable battery. (not using the AC adapter while using a non-rechargable battery)

CORRECTION for my last post:

Thanks for the reply.
So, does the software for the GMC-300 provide with real time monitoring to connect to a computer with graphs like the software for the ***GMC-200***? Or the real monitoring only shows on the display screen of the GMC-300 itself? I know, according to the videos you showed, that the software for the GMC-300 shows the same graph as the display itself. But, is there any way to use the software like the GMC-200 with the big graphs, etc?

Also, does the GMC-200 also allow using a non-rechargable battery like the GMC-300? (thanks for the warning about not using the AC adapter while using a non-rechargable battery)

Thanks again.

GMC-300 has built-in real time monitoring. So, the graph on the GMC-300 is real time. The GMC-200 has to connect with a computer.

Both GMC-300 and GMC-200 batteries are rechargeable, you can always connect with the power adapter or recharge the battery if it is running out.

The GMC-300 also accepts regular non-rechargeable 9V battery. But do not connect the charger when use non-rechargeable battery.
