All,
I turned on my GMC-300 today to get some samples of rain water off my umbrella after a strong thunderstorm blew through and am getting very high CPM of 60-90 and -IuSv/h/h where the uSv/h is normally displayed. These reading are from being on my desk where the CPM is usual 20-30 on any given day.

I use the 300 a few times a week and last time was yesterday and all was normal?

I have reset several times and as soon as there is any count registered the uSv/h starts displaying -IuSv/h/h.

Any ideas?

Try this just to verify that the unit is operating properly otherwise...

Go to the calibration setting and set point 1 at 152CPM, with uSv/h reading to 1.00

Point 2 make 455CPM, and set uSv/h to 3.00
Point 3, make ~910 CPM, and uSv/h to 6.00

This is basically the 152CPM = 1.00uSv/h which is supposedly the typical dosage response for the M4011 tube in lower ranges. Or, if you would rather see the default 200CPM per uSv/h, then set the three points accordingly in the same ranges manually. (like 100CPM=0.5uSv/h; 400CPM=2.00uSv/h, ~1000CPM=5.00uSv/h instead)

If your uSv/h still shows no value, then there's an issue with the reset parameters.

Good luck!
