Hey all,

After having had my device a week I just wanted to ask the obvious in case I’m missing something.

I’m not one to download data to my pc (I have a Mac) but it would be nice to view a summary of hi/low readings for the day, week, month on device.
A graph of a day or week would also be awesome.

When I go to history menu option I just see numbers….

The gmcmap gets data sent which is great… but it too only shows a current value.
Wouldn’t it be more useful to have a rolling week of data to display graphically?
Technically it’s already been collected.

The framework seems to be there to do this stuff…. Why not give gnc the extra edge over the other devices.

@cvee:
You can download, view, graph, check statistics and more, and can all do it on a Mac with GeigerLog https://sourceforge.net/projects/geigerlog/

Some brief statistics is explained in the GeigerLog manual. You find more in the "Potty Training" https://sourceforge.net/projects/geigerlog/files/Articles/

The radiation is random but very consistent. This is no contradiction, pay particular attention to "Poisson distribution" in chapter Statistics.

"Is background radiation always randomly inconsistent?"

It is chaotic, not random. Over time it will become consistent except for extraordinary gamma rays now and then. Because Earth rotates and because cosmic gamma rays are homogeneous, most people near sea level will have a long-term average of about 18cpm to 21cpm.

Because I live around uranium oxide, my readings are much higher.

Thanks…. It’s what I was looking for.
Though it would have been nice if there were graphical web based views of the data. Yes I can export it into excel…. But that’s an extra few steps.

Interestingly the time stamp of data collected is not at regular intervals.
Also my count seems to fluctuate a lot.

Is background radiation always randomly inconsistent?
