I just spot field use of GMC counters on Twitter, https://twitter.com/jfkeeler/status/986639854707458048 by journalist Jacqueline Keeler at an abandoned uranium mine in Cameron, Navajo Nation on 17 April 2018. Quite uSv, but detected just on the ground. I think that 1 m above groun should 0.4 uSv.

That's too dangerous. It would be interesting to see how a pancake geiger counter would read at that distance.
