Received this a few days ago and it counts, but no luck with wifi.

After entering SSID and password manually the wifi does not connect.

Then installed GQGMCDataViewer2.60 and was able to download existing data. When attempting to write another SSID and password to the device there was an error message saying my GMC-500+ does not have wifi.

Then factory reset everything and ran the software again. Same result.

Also tried resetting Wifi on the Wifi menu. Nothing.

What do I do next?

Hi velowarp, what does it say after you press the Connect WiFi button?

I tried again just now and here is what is happening. Different today.

Connecting Wifi!
Connected!

Wifi Signal
Checking...
--- Unknown

IP Address
Checking...
No IP!

Communicating with a Linksys WRT3200ACM Router in the same room.
The router sees the radiation sensor and reportss a strong WiFi signal.
The GMC-500+ does not reveal a host name to the router.
The router DHCP does not assign an IP address.

Did you try to click the "Test Connection" on the "Server" menu?

Maybe try to use a different WiFi. You can use your cellphone as a WiFi hotspot and connect your unit to your phone.

Not Connected Error

Unfortunately I need the GMC-500+ connected to this particular router.
I am connecting numerous IoT, cell phones, computers without issues.
Is there anyway to diagnose the problem with GMC-500+?
For example, what is the host name and how can I set it?

Yes you can communicate directly with the WiFI module using AT commands sent using serial terminal or GMC Data Viewer software.
You can find the AT commands here:
https://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/865.15/people/dan.chen/esp8266/

Let me know if still does not work then we can contact support for warranty. But we need to make sure it is the unit problem and not the router.

I think the answer to your question is here on this topic
https://www.gqelectronicsllc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9516

Namely, download the newer version of GQGMCDataViewerV2.62.exe and that would solve your issue. I don't know why didn't the dev team publish the latest version and I had to ask in my thread
