I purchased an EMF-390 in hopes of being able to locate the source of interference for the open/close signal for my electrically operated driveway gate, such that I have to be very close to the antenna with the various signal devices to operate the gate when a system of landscaping lights near the gate is on. The EMF-390 appears to be well beyond my technical knowledge, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi flash, you need to check in which frequency does your remote operate? You can check the spectrum mode is there's something being detected when using the remote.

The gate people say it is in the 310 to 315 MHz range.

Switch to the spectrum analyzer band to 240MHz-1040MHz. You can see there the remote signal around 310-315 if that's correct. You can zoom in to those values to check.

Hi wolffmichael, in spectrum band, hold the down button to display the selection screen for the other bands. then press down again once it popped up. then press select/menu key.
