Here is an ex USSR SBT-9 mica end window geiger tube in the GMC-280. The SBT-9 GM tube detects alpha, beta and gamma radiation. The hole drilled in the top half of the case lets alpha and beta radiation reach the GM tube's mica end window. I'm using an Am241 source from a smoke detector to generate Alpha particles (radiation). If you google: SBT-9 and space probe you'll see that this geiger tube was used on USSR space probes too!

How sensitive for Gamma and Bata ray on this tube? similar to Alpha?

Unfortunately I just know the specs below for now! I'm still trying to understand the anode resistor needed for the SBT-9 geiger tube too.

Right now the SBT-9 works well with the GMC-280 "as is" but there does not seem to be a plateau when the voltage is adjusted. Can you please tell me what the geiger tube anode resistor value is on the GMC-280 circut board? I think that I either need to add a resistor or lower the resistor. Thank you!

Voltage of start of counting (Geiger conditions) = 260...320 V
Working voltage = 380 V
Length of plateau = 80 V
Slope of plateau = 0.125 %/V
Background noise at 25 OC = 0.15 pulses/sec
Working temperature = -45...+50 OC
Life = 1*1010 pulses
Weight = ~8.5 g
Diametr = 10 mm
Length = 73 mm

ZLM. Are you interested in putting a SBT9 in my GMC300 and calibrate?
Will pay of course. I'll buy the tube and any chips needed
Would be neat to have a 300 pick up the Alpha's and document it
