Hi all, a newbie here!

I bought a GQ500+ a while ago for detecting radioactive lenses. It was working fine initially, but at some point, Tube 1 stopped registering any readings, not even background radiation. If I crank up the voltage to 455 V, it starts registering counts and gives me around 20 CPM, which seems reasonable for background radiation.

I don't have a known source to test it against. Is this normal, or could I have a bad tube or a faulty circuit?
