Hi. When I connect my 600+ to power, the battery level hops between ~71 to 100% with no real charging progress. Is this a firmware bug or is my battery acting up?
Thanks

Also. when powered on the little battery charging animation only randomly happens. This is why I suspect just a bug.

Also P2. when checking the battery level on the device, 3.79V is 71% and when it jumps to 100% it shows 3.80V. But sometimes, 3.80V is 72%. But the voltage never goes higher. this has to be a bug. I've requested an update via email.

Update. Swapping the battery from a 500+, revealed it wasn't charging the battery. The battery I put into it was reading 96% (4.06v) on the 500, the 600 is reading 100% (4.05v) and not charging it. But the 500 is happily charging the battery out of the 600. I'm guessing this was a bug with the 100% reading, and it's been fixed in the latest update which I don't have. whatever firmware I do have is fairly recent though, as it as the food testing screen with the arrows but it doesn't have the ability to swap the Average CPM for total dose on the Text Mode.

Hi FBSMatt, can you send me your serial number so I can check for latest firmware? Thanks.

It looks like calculation issues or can be just noise readings from the battery. But as long as you can see 'Charging...' even at 100% then it will charge as long as you can see the animation on the battery. It should stop charging and will say 'Completed' or 'Charge Completed' at around 4.2 volts.

EmfDev I've sent you my serial.
The charging animation is really random when it happens. So far I've used a 500+ to charge the battery, and back in the 600+ it's pretty alright at a full charge. 95%(4.05v), 97%(4.07v), 99%(4.09v), this is what my 500+ does and seems perfect so far. But still not really charging, when I connect it to power with a full batt it says 100%(4.14v) for a few seconds then it goes back to its little tricks by saying 100%(3.98v) with a charging animation when it feels like it. That same battery in the 500+ says the level eg96%(4.06v) and it starts charging it continuously.
It's certainly strange and a counting bug makes perfect sense.
Thanks.

Their computations are the same. It is normal if their voltage reading differ by a little. But if it says 'Charge Completed' in under 4V then it definitely is full but the voltage reading is wrong. It might be because of the charging circuit. Maybe a resistor isn't correct or something else.

Yeah resistors. I had it open and at the top right portion of the board (the side with the WiFi module, with the tube leads at the top) there痴 a bodge with a through hole and surface mount resistor soldered together. This might be the problem, I値l investigate more tomorrow.(it痴 quite late where I am) I値l update in a few days. For now I知 perfectly fine with charging the battery outside the device.

Again, I知 perfectly ok with charging outside the unit, so no need to replace the unit but advise for a fix I could preform in the future would be appreciated.

Thank you for taking pictures!. Those resistors on the top left are ok. They're not part of the charging. I have to ask our engineer which ones need to be checked. But it might take few days since it's holidays. I'll let you know when they get back to me.

No problems! Take your time, this is just a very minor inconvenience for me. All I知 expecting is a little advice for a fix I could do later on if it were to become a bigger problem to me.

Thanks for the help BTW.

you can look around U8 which is the charge controller for the battery. and also look around its connections on the microcontroller
