Having problems dowloading historical data.
I can see it from the menu options on the unit.
When dl is attempted, it ends afer 4% is dowloaded in Data viewer.
Datalogger pro doesn't appear to dl the history at ALL.

I am also having an issue with com port detection.
Using Winxp sp4.
The prolific driver choses com 3 even though in the selelection menu, com3 is seen as used.

If auto detect is chosen, it will find the GMC320 on com14 which I had to move the com port to, to get realtime monitoring.

The Viewer program, lower controls allows for inclusive com port selection, 1 thru 48. However, you cannot set the baud rate as the serial port settings under settings only goes up to com12!!!!!!!!

I had been able to dl the history before, but cannot recall the steps it took. It does not work seamlessly.

I have used many dataloggers that use these virtual com port drivers but this is painstakingly difficult.

Is this device an example of 'buy once, cry once', and, 'you get what you pay for'?

Using prolific driver as reported in hardware manager 2.0.13.130.
dataviewer v. 2.07
datalogger v. 5.37

there is no documentation as to how to dl the data.
Should the unit be on and recording??
Or off??
IIRC, the successful dl's I have had were done with the unit off.

The download history feature only supported on Data Viewer software. Not PRO.

Do not try to change the comport baud rate. The Data Viewer software fixed the baud rate to 115200 for GMC-320.

check followings:

1. make sure your GMC-320 used 115200 default baud rate.
2. make sure your Windows device manager detected the GMC-320 comport. See: http://www.gqelectronicsllc.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3796
3. before you downloading, make sure you connected to the GMC-320 correctly. When software detected GMC-320, it should display a short message in the message box: GMC-320 Re.3.14 etc. You also can use GQ Term Windows to talk tieh GMC-320.

You said it download the 4% and then stopped. That means your GMC-320 on has 4% of data in the flash memory. Reset of 96% are blank.

If you want to download 100% with all unused space data, then from the Data Viwer softare menu, select Setting -> Other and then check the check box on Ignor the End of Data .

Download entire flash memory regardless of data or not:

OK.
I understand now. Thanks.
There is so little documentation, and the menu selections should have been grouped better - like having download history and the toggle for EOF there.

BAck to the other problem with the Viewer.
Can the menus to select com ports agree???
The port select on the main window does not reflect the ones available under settings when you select serial port.

Sometimes the autodetect bombs. Realtime monitoring sometimes is not possible either.

I got the Pro version which has features I may never use, but have it anyway. The issue with com ports was fixed there (see previous post by me).

Thanks.

The comport baud rates have been fixed to 57600(GMC-300) and 115200(GMC-320), The comport number can be changed.

That because many users do not understand how to set the baud rate.

That dialog box image shows that com 12 is the highest com port you can set on the serial port select under setting. sometimes autodetect doesn't find it.

This will be fixed in next software release.

This does not affect Auto Detect comport.
